Trinidad and Tobago scores poorly in cigarette price, affordability change and tax share, and in the mid-range in tax structure. It would greatly benefit from higher cigarette prices, reducing the cigarette affordability, increasing the tax share of price, and improving the tax structure.
Scores Over Time
Trinidad and Tobago's overall scores increased from 2014 to 2020, then it decreased in 2022. The drop was largely due to a decrease in the affordability change score.
