Greece scores well in tax share and tax structure, mid-range in price, and poorly in affordability. Greece would greatly benefit from reducing cigarette affordability.
Scores Over Time
Greece's overall score remained constant between 2016 and 2020, then it decreased in 2022 and remained unchanged in 2024. The reduction was due to decreased cigarette prices and a reduction in the affordability change score. The country has not been able to reduce cigarette affordability since 2022.
