Belize scores well in tax structure and poorly in price, affordability change, and tax share components. Belize would greatly benefit from increasing cigarette prices and the tax share of price, and reducing cigarette affordability.
Scores Over Time
Belize's overall score increased in 2016 and decreased slightly in 2018, remaining at that level until 2024. The country has not been able to reduce the cigarette affordability over time.
