Jerry R. Toelsie, MD, Ph.D.

Jerry R. Toelsie, MD, PhD is a full professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Anton de Kom University of Suriname and currently serves as chairman of the board of the Medical Research Institute. His research focuses primarily on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and their associated risk factors. He collaborates with Ministry of Health, several universities, national, regional, and international institutions contributing to projects on health systems strengthening, non-communicable diseases, and health information systems. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and coordinator of the Medical educational program. He has extensive experience in medical education and research.
